Jade, mined in Guatemala, has been prized since pre-Hispanic times. Zandra Lorena Sajbin sets the gem in a beautiful cocktail ring. Featuring an intriguing combination of light green, dark green and lilac jade, the ring recalls a Maya legend. In the beginning, the god of maize used three stones to raise the sky above the primordial sea. From pre-Classic times onward, objects with three pieces of jade were placed in the tombs of the elite.
